2025 Welcome home fundraiser

6/13/2025

Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center hosted its annual Welcome Home Fundraiser last month at the Midland Country Club.  Jon Lynch, President of Three Rivers Corporation, served as the Honorary Chair for the event.

This year’s Welcome Home Fundraiser reached record attendance and featured remarks from Board President Chris Shirk, an update from Executive Director Joe Coffey, and special guest speaker Mocashetta Bryant. Bryant shared her experiences as a person with lived experience in Midland County and about her experiences with the programs and staff of Home To Stay. She discussed how she had previously been in a position to help others and was so impressed with and touched by how the community, and Home To Stay, leaned in to help her family.
Lynch shared data on the rising number of households in Midland County wo are struggling and how many of our neighbors could be just one crisis away from homelessness. He recognized Home To Stay as a force multiplier in the community. “This luncheon isn’t about fundraising--it’s about values,” Lynch said. “It’s about compassion, community, responsibility, and the belief that everyone deserves the power of ‘Welcome Home’,” Lynch added.

Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center promotes self-sufficiency to Midland County residents in need of stable housing and support services. Home To Stay opened its doors to safe, affordable housing in 1969 when 10 local churches formed the organization to improve housing conditions of low-income residents. A team of dedicated volunteers, board of directors, and staff have a collective vision of a community with safe, stable housing for all.
“The Board of Directors and I consider this year’s fundraiser to be a huge success,” said Coffey. “We met our goals in both attendance and fundraising, but we also showcased the impact we can all have when we act as a community,” Coffey added.
