2025 Welcome home fundraiser

Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center hosted its annual Welcome Home Fundraiser last month at the Midland Country Club.  Jon Lynch, President of Three Rivers Corporation, served as the Honorary Chair for the event.

​This year’s Welcome Home Fundraiser reached record attendance and featured remarks from Board President Chris Shirk, an update from Executive Director Joe Coffey, and special guest speaker Mocashetta Bryant. Bryant shared her experiences as a person with lived experience in Midland County and about her experiences with the programs and staff of Home To Stay. She discussed how she had previously been in a position to help others and was so impressed with and touched by how the community, and Home To Stay, leaned in to help her family.

Home To Stay and Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness Team Up for Homeless Awareness Month

Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has joined forces with Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) and other community partners, to raise awareness about issues related to housing insecurity and homelessness by recognizing Homeless Awareness Month throughout the month of November. Homelessness Awareness Month takes place every November in Michigan and aims to get communities invested in making a difference.

Local Meijer Team Members Choose Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center for Annual Meijer Team Gives Program

​The Midland Meijer, located on Eastman Ave. today announces its $10,000 donation to Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center, a local nonprofit that promotes self-sufficiency to Midland County residents in need of stable housing and support services.

​As a part of the Meijer Team Gives program, the Midland Meijer team members voted to choose this nonprofit due to its meaningful connection to the community and the team. The funds will support Home To Stay’s Homeless Prevention program.

new community engagement grant awarded

Midland Area Homes, Inc. d.b.a Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has been awarded a grant in the amount of $45,000 from the Midland Area Community Foundation.  The award was given to support Home To Stay’s Community Engagement program under the Midland Area Community Foundation’s focus area of Caring for our people: Human services, social services, poverty, housing, mental and physical health, and public safety.

City of midland renews home repair grant

As part of its Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the City of Midland has awarded Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center (HTS) $24,000 for its home repair program. The HTS home repair program is designed to assist qualified, low-income city of Midland residents with necessary home repairs and accessibility modifications.

​The City of Midland receives CDBG funds from the US Department of Housing & Urban Development on an annual basis with the goal of providing decent housing and suitable living environments.  The CDBG program provides communities with funding to meet community needs while simultaneously meeting federally established objectives.  “Community partners, like the City of Midland, allow Home To Stay to continue our work toward safe, stable housing for all," said Joe Coffey, Executive Director at Home To Stay.
