The Midland Meijer, located on Eastman Ave. today announces its $10,000 donation to Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center, a local nonprofit that promotes self-sufficiency to Midland County residents in need of stable housing and support services.
As a part of the Meijer Team Gives program, the Midland Meijer team members voted to choose this nonprofit due to its meaningful connection to the community and the team. The funds will support Home To Stay’s Homeless Prevention program. Midland Area Homes, Inc. d.b.a Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has been awarded a grant in the amount of $45,000 from the Midland Area Community Foundation. The award was given to support Home To Stay’s Community Engagement program under the Midland Area Community Foundation’s focus area of Caring for our people: Human services, social services, poverty, housing, mental and physical health, and public safety.
Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has been awarded a gift in the total amount of $25,000 from The Huntington Foundation. The award was given to support Home To Stay’s Home Repair program.
As part of its Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the City of Midland has awarded Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center (HTS) $24,000 for its home repair program. The HTS home repair program is designed to assist qualified, low-income city of Midland residents with necessary home repairs and accessibility modifications.
The City of Midland receives CDBG funds from the US Department of Housing & Urban Development on an annual basis with the goal of providing decent housing and suitable living environments. The CDBG program provides communities with funding to meet community needs while simultaneously meeting federally established objectives. “Community partners, like the City of Midland, allow Home To Stay to continue our work toward safe, stable housing for all," said Joe Coffey, Executive Director at Home To Stay. Midland Area Homes, Inc. d.b.a Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has been awarded a grant in the total amount of $50,000 from The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation. The grant award was given to support the purchase of a new vehicle for the Home To Stay Furniture Redistribution program.
