Home to Stay receives $2,000 from mymichigan health

8/20/2025

Midland Area Homes, Inc. d.b.a Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center has been awarded a charitable gift in the total amount of $2,000 from MyMichigan Health. The award was given to support Home To Stay’s Outreach & Engagement program.
Home To Stay Housing Assistance Center promotes self-sufficiency to Midland County residents in need of stable housing and support services. Home To Stay opened its doors to safe, affordable housing in 1969 when 10 local churches formed the organization to improve housing conditions of low-income residents. A team of dedicated volunteers, board of directors and staff have a collective vision of a community with safe, stable housing for all. Home To Stay is designated by the State of Michigan as the Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA) for Midland County, making the agency a recognized central point of intake for high-need individuals and families facing eviction or homelessness.

Home To Stay works towards its mission through the implementation of core services like the Outreach & Engagement program, which includes outreach sub-programs like furniture assistance, appliance vouchers, and Community Cafes, as well as engagement priorities like community surveys, community events, and social media. The goal of the Outreach & Engagement program is to increase awareness of the issues around housing in Midland County, create and increase equitable ways for those Home To Stay serves and the community at large to engage with the agency and give their input, and create greater avenues of access to those in need of services.

“MyMichigan Health partners with organizations to work toward their purpose of ‘Creating Healthy Communities—Together’, and we are grateful to be recognized in this effort and supported in our work toward safe and stable housing for all,” said Cam Miller, Outreach & Engagement Specialist at Home To Stay
